Visualize World Geography: A Scientifically-based Methodology, provides students with a solid foundation, mental categories, and a global framework to analyze, organize, and synthesize their understanding of the world–needed skills to creatively interact with our 21st Century landscape. In our pilot group, using a significant number of 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students as our random sample, we were able to experimentally demonstrate an improvement in student performance from an AVERAGE of 8% MASTERY BEFORE exposure to VWG videos, to an AVERAGE of 94% MASTERY AFTER EXPOSURE TO VWG VIDEOS.

The VWG method is a highly effective teaching tool primarily because it is based on what we already know about brain function:

1) Students MUST PAY ATTENTION to any given information before they can learn it. We know that students pay attention and CONTINUE TO ENGAGE when novel, colorful, musical, moving media is presented. VWG incorporates every one of these elements to MAXIMIZE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT.

2) People are designed to easily encode information when it is an image and when it is meaningful to them. VWG TRANSFORMS a country’s political boundaries and neighboring counties INTO MEANINGFUL SHAPES and LINKS them with objects and phrases students already have in their long-term memory.

The VWG program requires MINIMAL TEACHER PREPARATION. It consists of online streaming video-based instruction, where videos only take 2-5 minutes to view. Teachers who supplement their classrooms with the VWG method give their students a significant advantage because students use their acquired mental categories, and global framework as the MEANINGFUL CONTEXT in which to process the required subject matter at hand. Also, they gain new insightful perspectives for understanding and potentially SOLVING KEY ISSUES facing them today as global citizens of the 21st Century.
